Adventure Awaits You! Camping And Mountain Biking Holidays

An inimitable feeling of freedom awaits those who throw off the shackles of a suburban existence and hit the open road in a motorhome rental around Australia with their mountain bikes serviced and ready for camping and mountain biking adventures at one or more of Australia’s many outstanding national parks.

Hitting the open road in a campervan or motorhome would invoke a sense of freedom on its own, though when you’ve got your mountain bike with you and you know adventure awaits, that’s an inimitable feeling that everyone with a love of open roads and off-road trails knows well and prizes above everything else.

Australia’s Blue Mountains — Camping and Mountain Biking; Nothing Else Required!

Australia’s Blue Mountain Range is located a short drive from the metropolis of Sydney. Whilst there’s admittedly little in the way of open road to settle into in aSalamanda Travel motorhome rental en route from Sydney, what it lacks in distance from a bustling city it more than makes up for outstanding campsites, mountain biking trails, views and of course experiences — there’s little wonder that the Blue Mountains are as popular as they are with domestic and international travellers alike.

Since you’ll be travelling in a campervan or motorhome you don’t need to bring much in the way of camping equipment unless there’s more of you travelling in your rental than there are berths, though as there’s nothing like cooking outdoors under the Milky Way in all its glory, be sure to bring along barbecuing gear.

Blue Mountains National Park boasts some outstanding mountain bike trails for the adventurous, so ensure your bike has been serviced before departing because some of these trails most certainly aren’t for the fainthearted and you want to ensure your trusty steed really can be relied upon for the downhill delights that await you.

From your campsite where you’ve set up base in your campervan or motorhome — most motorhome rental agencies in Australia offer both campervans and motorhomes — you’ll find accessing the many outstanding mountain biking trails in the Blue Mountains National Park easily accessible though some trails, depending on which campsite you’re staying at, likely require you to drive to the trail otherwise you and your companions might find yourselves exhausted before you even get started.

Here are five of the trails in the Blue Mountains National Park that are well worth checking out when travelling around the region by campervan or motorhome.

  1. Murphys Fire Trail (5km)
  2. Narrow Neck trail (One-way route 9.5km each way)
  3. Wentworth Falls to Murphys Glen via Ingar Campground (9.5km)
  4. Burramoko Ridge (Hanging Rock) Cycle Trail (One-way route 6km each way)
  5. McMahon’s Point Ride - Wentworth Falls (18km)

Most of these trails you’ll find as easy going — making them suitable for young cyclists with reasonable experience — as arranging a motorhome rental in Australia with the exception of the McMahon’s Point Ride — Wentworth Falls which is recommended for experienced mountain bikers.

Time to start planning the adventure of a lifetime!
